Share Your Top Secret Rib Recipes.

Anyone want to share their top secret Rib Recipes. I promise I won't tell anyone.

I have a Traeger Smoker and I have tried two recipes for ribs:

    1. Put ribs on the grill at 350 for two hours or until the internal temperature reaches between 205 and 210.

    2. Put ribs on the grill on the smoke setting for 1 hour - 2 hours at 350 - wrap in tin foil and another 3 hours.

Both recipes you put apple juice in spray on or a pan on the grill with apple juice in it. Both you put on your favorite rub.

Number 1 comes out the best but not great and number 2 they come out tuff.

Large pot filled with chopped onion, bell peppers, soy sauce, 2 cans Heineken, enough water to cover ribs.
    Set in fridge overnight.
Set pot on counter in the morning
Drink remaining Heineken while pot sits
Place pot on stove and bring to boil
Light grill while pot coming to boil ( or drink beer and watch pot)
Once ribs start to shrink from bone, stop boiling
Place ribs on grill, add fav sauce and grill until color is to liking 5-10 min per side (1-2 beers per side)
    Bones should pull out.

I use a Cookshack smoker. Baby backs. Simple rub mix overnight. Apple or hickory wood (or small chunks of both) for the smoke box.
Set and forget - no flipping or spraying. 240* for 3-4 hours until bone exposure and slab flexibility say take them out.
10 minutes glazing on hot grill with bbq sauce. Cookshack brand Spicy BBQ sauce mix is still my top favorite sauce over the several dozen I've tried
Results have always been satisfying and I'm a bit of a bbq hobbyist and connoisseur.

Instead of apple juice as your steam or marinade try A & W rootbeer.

I use Rendezvous dry rub (from Memphis) on my ribs--smoking for 3 hours on my Mastercraft smoker @ 250 degrees. I only put one application of hickory wood for smoking to avoid oversmoking them.

Then I brown the ribs on my regular gas grill--finishing cooking them. I would use my Weber charcoal grill if I wasn't somewhat lazy. I finish them off the last 10 minutes with a designer sauce and another application of Rendezvous dry rub.

I have found that baby backs are not just baby backs. I try to use Excel or Swifts brand ribs. I also like pork from Aldi's because they're from farms in the upper Midwest that raise their pork differently than the Tysonized pork raised in the south.

    I do a 2-2-1 method.

Rub the night before, wrap in Saran Wrap.

Unwrap, then 2 hours smoke at 220 degrees. Wrap in foil, 2 hours back in the heat. Unwrap and 1 hour at smoke and 220 again.

I do like huntr70 except I do a 3-2-1. same prep night before and remove the membrane, 220 degrees all thru cook time ,smoke for 3 hrs, wrap in foil add cook for 2 hrs then uncover add a coat of sauce and back in smoker for an hour. I use my own rub. My mom and grandpa owned a BBQ in KC for a few years and this was how they did it. The rub is the rub they made. MMMM good.
