Day 10 San Clemente

On day 10 of our 28 day trip. Have another week here at San Clemente State Beach. Here’s a sunset pic from our site.

We would also like to stay at San Clemente State Beach and, or Point Mugu State Beach - but the website states max length 30' or 31'. Can they accommodate a 337? Do you arrive without a reservation?

There are a few sites, particularly sites 57 to 70, that wouldn't fit your 337 but I even squeeze into some of those. The big thing to watch for is the rangers there are particularly hard on parking off the pavement.

And, as with all California State campgrounds, you need to make reservations as they fill fast. 6 months in advance is usually required. In the fall and winter we can often find a spot in shorter notice but only as long as we are going mid-week. There are occasional walk ups available but they are only for a night and then if you want to stay longer you have to get in a line-up at like 9 AM and if the site isn't reserved for the day, you can stay. It's a bitch to be honest.

We always have a reservation for April and October... because we are always here for each of the grandsons birthdays. You can reserve through reserveecalifornia.com.... having said that I know midweek there are spots available for walk ups..... but you have to check in each morning and you might have to move to stay longer. There are always bigger trigs than ours here you just have to be careful of which site u pick.

Awesome. That's the park we always stay at and while it can be a bit crowded you just can't beat the location.
