Need a quick fix in Texas, Stockton to San Antonio
A full timers worst nightmare, repairs. They are starting to back up a little. No water pressure on the fresh water tank, pump or water intake on the tank. My RV One Control is getting to be a PITA. Water heater won't re-light when above 5000'. And todays straw that is making the camel grumpy, the #1 motor on the front drivers side Schwintek Slide throws a 1-8 code. I pushed it out by hand, hope I can get it back in.
So if ya'all (I am in Texas) know of any dealers along the next 500 miles that have been kind to full timers and or itinerant travelers please let me know. We are going to have to stop someplace for a couple of days to get some repairs done.

There are a number of GD dealerships in the San Antoio area - all with common ownership - and I know nothing about their policies. I just assume that they are no different than most. I use Class A RV Repairs in Pipe Creek, TX and can't say enough about them - I've been very impressed. There is also Texas Custom Coach in Pipe Creek - I've never used them, but have heard nothing but good about them. Pipe Creek is a wide spot in the road halfway between San Antonio and Bandera.
I'd start with them and if they can't help, there is no shortage of other independent shops in the area.
I'm on the NW side of San Antonio (Helotes) and will be greatly offended if there is anything I can do to help and you don't call.
Best,

I avoid dealers like the plague and either fix it myself or use a mobile RV Tech. I’ve found no dealers that give any priority to travelers. We’ve had 2 sho stoppers in 4 1/2 years on the road, and local dealer could have cared less. They love you if and when they think they can sell you a rig. Otherwise you’re on your own. If you are still under warranty I’d contact GD and see if they will approve a mobile tech.

Thank you John, no really, thank you! That is awesome.
We can't do what we do and not be pretty independent and self sufficient, but knowledge is power, so your referral to Class A RV Repairs in Pipe Creek, TX is pretty darn good. I will look them up and give them a call tomorrow. I am hoping that their name does not imply that they work only on Class A Rv's. They are on my call list for tomorrow.
Thank you!Dallas

I'm heading to the Texas rally tomorrow with a planned arrival on Tuesday. If you are going there also, I can show you how to change the motor if needed. It's about a 20 minute job.

Their lot was mostly full of towables so that shouldn't be a problem.
They didn't do any GD warranty work for me, but said they had in the past. Apparently, they are an authorized shop for most of the usual RV appliance vendors. Nice people, too.
Let us know how it goes. There are lots of other options in the area if they can't help you. We're about 15 miles further down highway 16.

Dallas, should you make it to Pipe Creek, you can wave at our 337 getting a new roof at Texas Custom Coach. They are definitely a high class operation, family business for many years. They specialize in class A motor homes but will address rigs like ours also. They have sharp mechanical technician Keep us posted!
