How about Wood Carving or Pyrographics?
So, who else likes to play with knives and hot pens. Anyone ?
I like to relax by the fire or anyplace else and play with sharp knives, gouges or hot pens. Fell in love with woodburning about 14 yers ago but can't be done easily dry camping so carving fell in line a few years later and on a continual learning curve of all the different styles. I make carved walking sticks and spoons when I want to keep my hands busy but not my mind. There are endless types of carving to entertain me for years! The campsite sign below is my first attempt at deep relief.
Here's a small sample of what I do.

.... .......
In between all that I started to quilt a few years ago making the tops by machine and do the quilting by hand. All I need is time to do it all.

I don't indulge in your hobby because I lack the talent. I just wanted to say you are an extraordinary artist! It would be fun to just observe your creative process.

Beautiful creations Marcy! Would definitely like to see them in person some day. I really enjoy artistic hobbies that allow our creativity to be expressed.

That is some nice work and like the others have said I do not have near that kind of talent. I have a tough time just making stuff come out square.

Marcy,
That’s good stuff! I tried my hand at spoon carving and found out very quickly that is not an easy task. I would love to see your spoons. I do a fair amount of woodworking and enjoy the smell of sawdust. I always have firestartarter!!! Woodworking is very relaxing.
Keep up the good work!Vince and Peg
