    Any new ideas on thermostats

These touch Dometic thermostats are a pain. Any have success yet in changing it out? Would need both heat and ac and fan speed. Programmable a plus.

The best solution I've seen is from @klenger I'm planning to do this in the off season.

Failing that there is a replacement Dometic Bluetooth thermostat, but I just can't bring myself to support that product when a residential thermostat does more for less money.

    Lightbulb

The problem I'm having with the thermostat (on my second one) is that they don't work with the face plate installed. I don't think a Bluetooth version will solve the problem. But after looking at Klenger's modification, that is just genius in its simplicity.

Our trailer is permanently located on a site and doesn't get moved. I am tempted to use Klenger's mod http://www.klenger.net/hvac.html and install a programmable thermostat so the furnace or A/C will automatically turn on a few hours before we arrive so the interior temperature is already comfortable.
