3rd Renator pressure regulator bit the dust
Three Renators in one year, this last only installed a month ago and now stuck on 0. Not trustworthy enough with the plumbing in our systems.

I think the quality might have gone down a bit. Two frozen on zero and one was mis-cast so that the hose connection would never stop dripping. Current one is still under warranty.
Just looked at the reviews on Amazon. Nearly all of them are 2022/2023 and stopped working in a year - exactly what two of mine have done. They may have been good once, but......Last edited by ajg617; 07-13-2023 at 07:00 PM.

Those pressure gauges that come with the regulators are not of very good quality. Mine locked up, so I bought a cheap glycerine filled one and it's been working fine ever since.

Got to love the price on the Valterra one - over $75 on Amazon and Etrailer. Likely made by same company in China.

No way I'd spend anywhere near that much. Like you say, they're all likely made in the same building. I think I paid $30 or so for mine a couple years ago, and had to replace the pressure gauge last year. So got about $35 in it. So far it's been working fine. I set the pressure at 50 psi here at home, and don't mess with it.

Go to your home fix-it store, get a household one (because they control pressure but allow good flow) and get the parts, pieces, and adapters to fit your hose and get a good pressure gauge to fit on it. Mine has been working for longer than I can remember. Watts is a reputable brand.

That might be a next year or fall job since we are heading out in less than two weeks for extended trip and I have the regulator 'plumbed in'. Meanwhile, Renator is sending me two new gauges so I should have a workable unit. Lowes has Watts gauges in stock - might see what the threads look like. But the Watts regulator with GHT are over $350.

I think the regulator should be at the hose bib. That way it protects not only the RV, but the host too. And even then I've lost more than one of those white hoses to long term use.

Yeah, maybe but with the amount of connects/disconnects we do on long trips, it's a pain. If we were at the same location for extended period, might think differently. I do always ask the water pressure at sites (and read the reviews online) and have gotten warnings at a couple. In that case I put the extra camco regulator on the bib. Otherwise it's between the Y and Nautilus inlets.
