Got Lippert Solid Steps and A Sore Back From Lifting Them???

Just out - a hydraulic lift assist kit for your Lippert Solid Steps. We like our steps, but the weight is prohibitive for the ladies. My wife can lift them, but it ain't easy!

Anyway. Lippert is now taking orders (of course the kits are backordered) for a bolt on lift assist kit. When you call them, just have the width of your steps and the number of steps handy. I have the "large" steps and with freight the kit came in at $160.

    FYI

Don't know - give them a call but my guess is that if they have the upgrade kit, they probably have steps that already have the lift assist included

The new Solitude and Momentum steps are now MorRyde steps that do have the lift already there.

I just want to take a minute to add to the body of knowledge on this topic.

I called Lippert to determine part number and pricing. There are two kits available: 733937 for doors up to 30", 733939 for doors 30-36". Both were quoted as $102.95 plus shipping. Here's the rub. Shipping was $110+ as they need to come freight. The order taker was a little astonished at the shipping rate and checked other orders and they to had shipping rates in the same cost range. Needless to say, Lippert didn't get my order. However, e-Trailer has the kits for about $10 more with free shipping. So I called e-Trailer and ordered the 733937 kit for my 2017 Solitude 310. If that turns out to be the incorrect part, I'll update this post. My guess is either kit will work, it's just how much lift assist you want.

You can buy Lippert or MorRyde stairs from Amazon with free shipping for Prime Members. The gas-assist versions are not available yet.

One difference is Lippert has a larger landing/step 1st step coming out of rv. 13" I believe.

We don't have either yet, but when we walked in and out of dozens of 5th wheels at the Hershey Camper show, we liked the Lippert steps a lot better. That wider top step really makes a difference to us. We are looking into getting the Lippert steps installed.
