You guys keep talking about things on my todo list! Please stop. I had to get a couple rear shocks last year while in Oregon because one was leaking. It was an off the shelf Les Schwab Mountain Rider. I planned on some Bilstein 4600 this spring but my brother said I should get 5100s. Any thoughts other than what I read online? My truck is a 2014 Ram 2500 and I’m pulling a 303. BTW fingers crossed for Elkhart in August. Tomorrow I’m having my 3rd retina surgery in two months [emoji51]

4600 and 5100 insides are the same. Only difference between them is the 5100 are for 0"-? lifted trucks. No need for them if you're stock.

Update on rear shock replacement . . . (began our tow home to Canada from Florida today)
I replaced the rear shocks with new OE spec units.
Towards the end of our trip to Florida last fall, I was noticing more push/sway when being passed by a transport truck.
After trying to figure out which would be the best aftermarket shocks . . . I went with new Ford OE HDPP rear shocks.
(According to an F150 Forum post that I found, these are a better match to the HDPP suspension than Bilstein, etc)
Towing stability has returned to "like new" .

    Hey Rob,
Long time no communication! Good info about the shock replacement. I'm about four years behind you - with our F150 HDPP being a 2018, we will probably track to similar mileage. A year and 3 months, and we already have over 15,000 miles! I love the F150 HDPP; it makes a great daily driver and seems a good fit with the 230RL - no stability issues so far. We have actually put significantly more tow mileage on the truck than I originally planned for, which is a good thing. 13 camping trips in 12 months of trailer ownership, with one of the trips a 3 week experience up into North Carolina.

I'll be watching my mileage to plan for the rear shock replacement, but we have a way to go...

Hey Chad! Good to hear from you and good to hear that things are going well!
I think the "learning" here is that when the tires need replacing . . . so do the shocks . . . particularly the rears if you are towing.

Glad my Tundra came with Bilsteins. Hopefully adding the rear TRD sway bar and Firestone air bags to it this weekend. Then I just need to get my trailer back from the shop and reset the hitch and should be good to go.

Interesting reading. I've noticed a lot of 'bounce' in the rear, both empty and towing the 337. With only 9000 miles on my '18 3500 HD dually, I'm hesitant to throw new shocks at this thing. Past experience tells me OEM shocks aren't the greatest thing. Anyone with the same basic truck and mileage done a shock swap and had good results?
