Depends but for the most part I'd let my kid do it for a pre determined amount of time that once up was over. No extensions, no complaining that is what you asked for, agreed upon and how it will be done.
Especially if it was just sitting and rotting on the side of the house anyway.
Now if they were a total idiot and couldn't take care of things in any way then it would be different. Since we are talking about your own flesh and blood and not some random dude off the street I think it's safe to assume that isn't the case.Last edited by Aridon; 01-04-2019 at 07:51 AM.

Yes I would (and have) let my adult sons use our RV's. They are responsible young men and I've never had an issue.

This thread reminds me of the early years when the guys and I had well cared for Camaro performance cars. If a different friend asked to borrow our car and the garbage fell out of his car when he opened the door.....well not going to happen. If a another friend asked and his car looked like it just came out of the showroom and he wiped the door handle off when he closed the door......we were gtg ! Obviously there was more to it but you get the point.
It all depends on your expectations and standards and will others deliver or exceed on your expectations and standards. With good friends and family you have a pretty darn good idea. With other folks a higher level of due diligence will be necessary.

When I have been asked to loan: lawn mower, truck, car, boat, trailer, wood splitter I ask if they have the money to replace it if they trash it. Answer is usually no.( Even if it's yes I don't loan it). They usually don't have two nickels to rub together. I do let my daughter & grandson stay in my trailer when they come to the house to visit.

Oh no, Dan just brought up a very bad memory. I had a 67 Camero running a 454 4 barrel carb. I let a friend(?) borrow it and he decided to tinker with the engine. Didn't tighten the gas line all the way.....Woosh no more Camero.
I let my son and daughter-in-law use our Jayco on several occasions when they would take their 4 wheelers "mudding". The first time had no problems, they helped me clean up the TT. The second time they tied a rope between 2 TT's to dry out their gear. He left before they did and - yep they didn't untie the clothes line - ripped that sucker right off the back of the Jayco. We fixed that and he used it several more times since then.
Not sure that I would let him take the GD 311BHS out without me being around.Les and Sharon Bevil

I've allowed this a few times over the years. We let my ex-wife use our bumper pull at the beach for a week once when she had no money and wanted to have a beach vacation with our young son. Worked out fine. Again we did it with my sister and BIL for a week at the beach. Also went well. In both cases I brought the trailer to the CG and set it up and then returned to pick it up. Without a doubt I would never do this with anyone I thought wasn't responsible or wouldn't keep things as nice as I do.

We loaned out a tent once, it came beck with several holes in the floor. So we say no since then, no matter how responsible things can happen and our ttailer cost way more than a tent to repair if sometthing happened.
