Demco 18K Autoslider Service Bulletin reminder for 2013/2014 hitches

I was lucky enough to pick up a cheap used 18k Demco Autoslide last week. My research before purchase discovered that some models had a service bulletin for bad/weak welds. Demco lists these as "manufactured between Nov 1, 2013 and May 1, 2014 with the serial number range of 825248 through 825638". I actually hoped mine might be included as I'd get new parts... and what do you know... it was! I called Demco and they shipped me replacement parts for free. A quick half hour install and the internals of my used hitch are now new. I compared the gear plates and the new one has substantially more main shaft diameter coming through and more weld. Very happy with their customer service and quick free shipping. This is a reminder to check your serial numbers if you have an older hitch.

Nice! I have found Demco's customer service to be excellent so far. I was having some problems getting the jaws fully shut (about a 1/8-1/16in from getting the locking pin in) and they sent me a new set of jaws no questions asked. They also sent me a locking plate which I called them back and said I didn't need (have a standard LCI 1621 pin box) - told me to keep it.
