I was joking around with some coworkers that this truck was the first to hit the 4 digit mark for torque and it may be the first to hit a 6 figure pricetag from the factory! With half tons in the mid $70ks, I'm afraid maybe it's not that much of a stretch for the HDs to be near $100k soon.

agree, yup $100K is just around the corner. Another reason I'm glad we bought when we did. Our 2018 3500 MSRP with all the options its has (near top of the line) was $75,430, by the time the deal was done we got it for $62K. But its the last truck we will buy and it will end up being our only vehicle. When we bought our 2002 new it was like $42K and we paid $34K for it. Shows how much prices have gone up. But when I think about it our 2002 is pretty basic in its options that was available at the time. Our new truck has all kinds of installed options our 2002 could only dream about.
There are a lot of "Hot Shots" around our area hauling everything from cattle and horses to huge round bale hay trailers 35 feet in length to three vehicles loaded on a goose neck. Oh yeah and also RV's. I looked at used 1 tons and for one only a few years old they were well over 150 - 200K miles and the drivers seats were well worn.Steve & Tami Cass - Escapee's, FMCA Members, Texas Fulltimers Since July 2020

I'm sure $100K is close. Anything over $70K takes me out of the market unless the warranties get a hell of a lot better (e.g., 300K miles, 10 years bumper-to-bumper including all emissions equipment). Since that will never happen, I've got a standing agreement with my father to buy his 2004 Dodge Cummins with the NV5600 manual transmission when he decides he is done with it.

It’s true 100K trucks will be the norm in 4-5 years. My all option Platinum has an 84500 list, crazy! Read in Ford literature that the 6.7 is torque limited in 1-3 gears. Full power in 4-6 gears. You can feel it too, 4th gear punch it pulls like freight train

I guess this Diesel I have now will be the last truck I every own as well. I'm turning 50 soon and don't need all these bells and whistles, hence heated seats and big screen this and that. I still use a road atlas and phone. Met too many people on the road lost "Big Trucks" using there phone or whatever to get them somewhere and then lost in a small area. Sun roof, heated seats, cooled seats, and then whatever else comes with these new trucks. I say for real? Surely we haven't forgotten how to look at a map? Surely we do not need a sliding roof on a work truck simply to rarely glimpse upwards? Simply I guess i'm just getting OLD at the age of 50 and I guess things change and upgrade. I will say this as ending. Its not needed the torque, and all that for now and the prices of vehicles is OVER priced, but people will pay no matter what for what reason I have no idea.
Keep your truck if it works, save the money. If you foresee in the future of wanting something a lot bigger buy now and not wait till vehicle prices go up $1k's more. These new trucks being built you will have to upgrade your drivers liscense specs to pull those hogs of a trailer and well so much more.
Blah, I can go more, but don't need to...…..I'm tired on the subject and why why2017 Ram 3500 DRW 6.7l 4x4 regular cab 3.73 gears 68rfe trans. Payload 6255lbs
