    2019 Ram HD

Anyone else excited to see what Ram shows off on Monday? I've seen a lot of the spy shots and the video teasers and like what I've seen. Expecting a lot of similarities to the new 1500. Looking forward to hear about torque, payload and towing numbers. Video teaser says it's the most capable truck ever. Guess we'll have to see come Monday!

I would certainly be excited about the now model 2500 HD--if the prices were about $25k less. All of the Big 3 have gotten so greedy on truck pricing that I see no way the retail market can be sustained at current sales levels.

It's enough to make the current owner of any 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck to really take great care of what they're driving. I'm not about to part with my 150K mile 7.3 diesel truck with the price of the new ones. And I'm one that really has the $ to buy one.

The 2019 Ram HD looks quite good to me. The exterior is not a big departure from the current Ram, but that is fine with me. They definitely have some nice features (e.g., cameras, lights, air-suspension) and the straight-6 Cummins engine has always been my favorite engine geometry.

That is the worst possible pic of the new Chevy. Whoever released that should be fired. This view is quite a bit better:

I'm anxious to see the GMC.

I loved my 14 Ram, I just couldn't handle the torque management/dead pedal. Outside of the throttle response and mirrors, I liked about everything else better on the Ram. These new ones really take it up a notch again.

6.4 is now mated to an 8 sp trans. No 5.7 as an option in the HD line. It's going to be interesting to see how the Ram 2500 3500 tows with the 6.4 8 sp. It probably won't be any faster but the obnoxious 1-2 or 2-1 shifting will be way smoother.

Supposedly this is really only a half generation update. It was supposed to be much more involved but has gotten pushed back to 2022 when a all new generation will be introduced and production moved back to Michigan. we'll see!

I think the biggest shortcoming they will face is the HD tranny. Duramax/Allison goes to a 10 speed in 2020 and I heard Ford will be there soon also.
