    In JKellerJr's,
picture I really like that step in front of the rear tire. The bed sides are so tall now it's darn near impossible to reach in to lift out a can of gas, 5 gal bucket, battery, etc.

    Regards,
    Kevin

I sure love my wheel to wheel running boards. I use them all the time. Rolling up tonneau cover, hooking up safety chains, grabbing items in the front of the truck bed..... Anything they can add to help get to these taller beds is a plus to me!

I was honestly a little disappointed that HP and torque numbers remained the same for the 6.4L. Those are the same numbers as my 2017. But the 8 speed would be a welcomed change. 90% of my truck miles are non towing so I'd welcome some economy gains.

Yep it got my attention, 1000 ft pounds of torque and that nice new interior from the 1500's. Full TPMS for trailer as well, remote cameras for trailer, love it.

    Now to afford it... ugh.

Zero chance I'd be a guinea pig on a new HD tranny.

I watched the video and i see some things I like better than our 2018 3500, but not enough to cause me to think I should have waited and got a 2019.
To get that maximum tow weight and payload capability it would have to be a special order indeed. You probably wouldn't find one just setting on a dealership lot. The new engine torque numbers are impressive. For my 2018 its 385 HP and 930 lbft Torque. Now its up to 1000 lbft torque.

I hate those dark, black, charcoal interiors but its the lowest price option. I do think the rearward facing white LED lights on the door mirrors could help in backing in an RV at night. Don't know how really effective they are. Seems like they are really thinking about the trailer towing public, all manufacturers are. I do like the rear park sense covering the side extended rear fenders on a DRW. Mine are only directly behind the rear bumper, but then again that is what rear view mirrors are for.

I saw the rear camera demo for hitching goose necks and 5th wheel hitch improvement. They have a line on the screen that helps align the pin. Similar to what people have done by painting a line on their hitch or putting a piece of tape on the center of their hitch.

i read where there was a complete redesign of the electrical system, alternator and charging system. They didn't say anything about it. I will also take my cast iron beefy engine components over thin composite aluminum components.

When I was under my truck changing my fuel filters and such, I had a chance to really look around at the suspension, leaf springs, overloads, driveshaft and U-Joints, brake assembly, man they are huge compared to my old 2500. On the 2019s as they talked about the use of driveshaft CVJoins vs Ujoints is a positive note.

All in all I like my 2018!

I agree with that. Even with the new 10-speed Allison coming out in the Chevy trucks I'd wait until the 2nd model year. And I trust Allison trannies, just don't want to be the guinea.

Honestly, 1k pulling torque? Is that really needed to pull a 5th wheel? Now maybe if your a hotshot person with the proper paper work and insurance it would, but I just don't see that much torque being needed to pull a RV. I can have my perfect house built brand new for the price of these new trucks.

All the big 3 have tons of computer controlled torque management. You’d rarely see peak torque on any modern truck unless the computer saw ideal allowable conditions. Never in the lower gears.
