The one I saw had a special hitch on the back of the truck that had 3 point connection to the device. It looked well built but I forget what the max pin weight was but I remember it being quite high. If you had a short bed you would solve the problem of hitting the back of the truck in turns. Just think to be able to tow up to your GCWR without worrying about payload ratings. Still not something I would want to do but that's just my opinion.

I think it defeets the reason for a fifth wheel. The fifth wheel puts most of the weight in front of the rear wheels of the tow vehicle so it is not pushing on the rear of the vehicle, when decelerating in a curve or down hill, and is not pushing the ****** around. This looks like it would.

After a bit more research, they are spendy, 10-12k and higher I've seen reported. As with most stuff though, the folks that have em, love em and most of the folks that diss em, have never even seen one. There were several reports of poor customer service and long wait times for delivery as they are built to order, but the thing that I saw that I would have to research more is in that one video, you could see the scrub marks from the right front tire on the pavement during a tight left turn, as if the device was trying to push the truck straight. Might have been an illusion but I would definitely be digging into that. But then again, I have no use for one but not saying there might be some special circumstances folks have that would warrant it. Interesting gizmo...much like how they add axles to haul huge loads with specialized trailers.
