Towing huge fifth wheels using the "automated safety hitch system".
It's apparently possible and SAFE?
Part of me thinks it's just some oddball gimmick because I've never actually seen anyone using it.
What do you guys think of this rig?

The only advantage I can see, is that you don't have to have a pick up truck to haul a fifth wheel. And now you have something you are going to have fun backing up that dose not handle as good as a fifth wheel. What do you think?

This has been discussed at length a number of times over on the Escapees forums. The general consensus is a long list of cons and no pros that any of the long-time, experienced RVers over there can think of.

Kind of like the same thing Lucy & Dezi used on the long long trailer. And attached is what's available now.

I have seen one back in and I would say it would be easier than a standard 5er. The guy was pulling a big toy hauler with F250 and it was within his GCWR but would have been way over his GVWR/Payload rating. The connection between the truck and the device is solid and doesn't swivel so acts like a really long truck. There is no way that I would own one but that just my opioun. Here is a video of backing one up.
