    GD delivery contractor

Was surprised this morning while heading down I44 near Springfield MO, to see a Imagine and a Reflection gaining on me......I was on cruise at 70. When they both passed me I noticed they were both being pulled by a DOT hauler with Indiana temp plates on the trailers.

So I was thinking, presuming my new 376th, was also delivered by some DOT hauler to SoCal, I’m going to get it to my suspension guy and have HIM give it a once over.....doubtful the dealer factored in 2000 plus miles at high speeds.

The tires probably are not liking going 75+ MPH. The new owners will never know why the tires didn't last very long before blowing.

LOL.......I underwrite trucking for hire risks, so I know the answer to that one, and it's no.....they paid by the mile, and have to deal with DOT hours of service issues......so they need to pound as many miles as they can in their 11 hour driving day.

Additionally, if there's no backhaul of some sort, they drive back to Indiana for "free". That's when I'd be passing THEM in my 68 mph limited Kenworth. On the road if you see a motor home with a toad and Indiana plates that's likely a contractor making a delivery with an economical return vehicle. Not a bad way to make a retirement income I suppose.
