Randy--the OP did state, "Any help would be appreciated thanks a lot."

In a different thread I mentioned to a potential buyer to check out the difference in warranty coverage between a new RV and a used RV. The OP's response was shock that the original warranty did not transfer. My input had really nothing to do with the OP's original question, I just suspected he may not know. In other words, I think Bob was just trying to help.

If I'd asked a similar question about two years ago and got Bob's response it might have saved me $10K and kept me out of the TwoTimeTV Club.

I have a Curt A16 Hitch and it should work fine to clear the tool box. I recently had a f150 supercab with 6.5 foot bed with 2167 payload and about 250 extra payload with a 230RL, load less in the truck and more in the rv

Really.....Ok.....If you guys want to turn every thread into a "your truck isn't big enough thread" have at it. I really think we've had way more of that than we need already. I'm done. Need to find another house...…….

Reflection 150 series with tool box.

They’re right though, that trailer is too much for that half ton.

Op will be 300# from max tow if the trailer is fully loaded.
    Why cut it that close?
Get a bigger truck or a lighter trailer.
It’s a shame people do this research last instead of first.

Unfortunately, the BIGGEST thing when towing, is STOPPING!! When you overload your rig, the stopping is affected more then anything else. And it is not noticeable till you try to stop in a hurry..and you cannot. Been there...

Manaqua1 - I don’t think you will have a clearance problem. If the 5th wheel hitch that you choose will fit behind the tool box, there is nothing in the towing process that should enter this space.

WRT towing capacity . . . just one caution to consider. The “12,000 lb TT capacity” is based on a 10% hitch weight. Your Class IV hitch is rated at 1200 lbs with WDH. Most loaded TTs will have hitch weights closer to 15%.

As has been mentioned . . . without the HDPP, you will definitely be pushing the load carrying limits of your truck. The Ecoboost and the brakes will be up to the task. Both are tested and rated to the CGVWR.

    Just FYI
My Reflection 150 series is 19% at the hitch, about 1,700 lbs, and my trailer GVWR is 1,200 lbs lighter than the OP’s trailer.

Thanks a lot for everyone’s help and insight to this. I plan on wearing this truck into the ground and therefor am not in the market for a brand new one. We have decided on getting a reflection 297RSTS instead, which will be perfectly fine as far as my trucks limits go.

I never travel with water in the tanks btw, just for that reason. 😁
