I have a slow leak in both the hot and cold line out of my water heater in a 303. These are the infamous soft hoses not pex. I will keep the hoses but want to change the fittings. Found a few PDF documents on the Grand Design forum suggesting brass barbed fittings as shown. What is the correct size for this hose? What is the check valve I read about and how does this need to be installed?

    Hi Beachcamper,

The check valve is on the outlet of the water heater. The top connection with the female fitting and the red hose in your picture.

Got it, looked at some videos and some show they are available in brass. Don’t know if I should just have GD send me the fittings in plastic or change everything out to the brass fittings as some have done. Just want to get the right ones as i am pretty far from stores that carry such things.

Howard thanks for the link to the spare parts.

I finally got around to fixing the leak. Bought a valterra check valve in brass plus some good PTFE teflon tape. I removed the old valve and it had very little if any pipe dope or tape on it. Valve seemed to work when I tested it. Regardless, it’s replaced and no more leaks and no more whistling noise when WH is turned on

Nice work. You have a part number for the valve?
