Can't help you with the 2600RB specifically as we have the 2950RL. We do use the Equalizer hitch and it works great, the Blue Ox is also great. Its not as simple as just what hitch to use. Its a combination of the RV weight, hitch tongue weight, the hitch rating and correct adjustments and the capabilities of the tow vehicle that determines how well things work.

Staying with the hitch - Any hitch has to be sized and adjusted and fine tuned correctly to provide the best tow. You have to find out what your true ready to camp fully loaded tongue weight is. And don't forget about the weight of any water you will be carrying and the weight of the hitch itself.

I will tell you our story so you will know what you have to take into consideration.
The advertised dry tongue weight for our camper was 795#. So we started out with the 1000/10000 Equalizer. It should have been adequate by that 795 number but it towed lousy!
Then I purchased a Sherline tongue weight scale and found we were actually way over loading the 1000/10000 Equalizer hitch. And the hitch was not properly adjusted by the dealership.

With our RV empty of personal items, storage compartment empty, all holding tanks empty, and with full propane tanks, a battery and the weight of the Equalizer hitch the tongue weight was 1050# way over that initial 795#.
We loaded our personal items in the RV and I loaded stuff in the storage compartment (hoses, tire jack, grill etc) then weighed the tongue again, now we were at 1200#. Then filled the fresh water holding tank and now the tongue weight was 1500#. Way over loading the 1000# tongue hitch rating.

We had to upgrade the Equalizer to the 1400/14000 model. Now that means every piece of the Equalizer hitch has to be rated to 1400/14000. The bars, hitch head, shank and don't forget the hitch ball rating. You put a 1200# shank together with a 1400# head and 1400# bars and you still have a hitch rated at 1200#.

Now if we keep the fresh water tank empty and our RV fully loaded for camping we average 1200# tongue weight. I fine tuned the Equalizer hitch adding more washers to the rivet pin to increase the head angle and put more down force on the hitch bars, transferring more weight to the truck front axle and now the hitch is excellent for towing. If we fill the fresh water holding tank we have to move weight around in the RV or move weight from the RV to the truck cab to stay under the 1400# max tongue weight rating of the hitch.

Added content - our RV GVWR is 9000#. At 12% the tongue weight estimate is 1080#. At 15% the tongue weight estimate is 1350# so you can see we are in the ball park of what our actual tongue weight is. That is why people say to take 12-15% of the trailers GVWR as an estimate of what your fully loaded tongue weight will be.

The Equalizer hitch works great for us, yes it can creek and groan from the bars sliding through the "L" brackets, that is normal. Keep the hitch greased in the correct places and its not too bad.

Sorry for the long winded detailed answer, but it is not as simple as just putting a hitch on and take off towing.

Used that hitch with my last TT; worked great.

One comment on the creeks and groans. These work wonders: https://www.amazon.com/Equal-i-zer-9...s%2C136&sr=8-1

I know, it pained me to pay ~$20 for those silly things. They work. Period.

The RV shop manager told me that he also uses the same WDH. You may want to check both hitch systems on YouTube. Welcome and congratulations!

X2 on the nylon pads. I use them too and my hitch is silent.

I would recommend the 1000/10000 Equalizer as well. Also, you should know that any weight that you pack behind the axle of your truck needs to be added the hitch weight number used for sizing your hitch. This fact is in the Equalizer manual, many people miss it.

I use the Equalizer and I found that, for noise reduction, lubing the hitch head at the recommended points was more helpful than the nylon pads on the L brackets. YMMV.

Great point. To do both is the ticket. Grease points on the hitch are any points that are shiny.
