With several recommendations already out there that a 1000/10000 hitch should be fine, I would suggest considering Steve's post above and what the hitch weight could be in relation to the trailer's GVWR. For 2019 the 2600RB stepped up to a GVWR of 7995 lbs. If loaded all the way to GVWR and if 12.5% of that was carried by the tongue, that would put 999 lbs. from the trailer plus the weight of the hitch itself as hitch weight, exceeding the rated capacity of a 1000/10000 hitch. I would suggest going with the 1200/12000 or even the 1400/140000 version of the hitch instead of the 1000/10000.
For reference, our 2800BH (which I think is similar in weight to the 2600RB) puts 1000 lbs. on the hitch when loaded up for a weekend trip. The RV dealer's salesman - probably thinking only of the advertised hitch weight of 575 lbs. - initially offered to set us up with the 1000/10000 Equal-i-zer hitch. We went with the 1200/12000 version instead.Joe & Joy + children

Edit: I should preface this with I haven't towed this setup more than about 50 miles, but it was very windy on a crowded interstate that day.
I got the equalizer because of a bad rental experience with the chain style hitches. I have the 1k bard for my 2600rb and it towed great on the way home. I don't think id want the 800lb bars for this rig. It might be fine though.
Overall, it's a noisy hitch and at times sounds like something has gone terribly wrong back there, but it does tow well.

Boy I'm saying for me this subject is like picking at a scab that wont heal.
I wish the manufacturers would stop publishing these low tongue weight numbers in their brochures and web pages. Everybody from the sales process on down as well as hitch manufacturers key in on these low tongue weight numbers and use them as accurate loaded tongue weight numbers. Well they are not accurate.
I went round and round with GD, the RV dealership and Equalizer but they still don't get it! Or don't care
I agree that if it were me, I would use a hitch minimum rated 1200# for a 2600RB or 2800BH. For the 2950RL or 2970RL a 1400# minimum rated hitch. Equalizer or Blue Ox will due fine.
I use both style hitches for my different trailers - Equalizer & Blue Ox. For our 2950RL GVWR 9000# I use the Equalizer 1400. For my car trailer with the same kind of GVWR I use a chain bar style hitch with separate sway bar very similar to the Blue Ox. Both do a great job of towing but they are sized and adjusted correctly. Both can be noisy (creek, groan & pop) but I keep them greased at the head rotating joints and they are pretty silent.Last edited by Steven@147; 02-22-2019 at 06:56 AM.

Isn't the 2600RB a tad too heavy for a GMC Canyon?

Oh, now you've poked the bear! The OP will have to work to keep it under the 7,000 lbs tow rating of the truck. And if he does, he might have 300-400 lbs payload capacity left for all the passengers and stuff in the truck. Wonder what the receiver is rated for - that is usually the first barrier.....
