Re-weighs are like two bucks so run across the scales as many times as it takes to get everything you need including individual trailer axles occassionally. Be sure to weigh a new truck on the way home from the dealer so you get a good baseline before you start adding stuff.

There are two CAT scale phone apps. One to find the nearest scale and another to weigh. Put your cc in the app and you don't even have to go inside - they will email the ticket to you.

Everything you ever wanted to know about CAT scales is here
    https://catscale.com/

Their apps are in the app stores.

Knowing your weights is probably the easiest thing you can do to make your rig safer.

Also note that the intercom sign mounted off the scale (once you have pulled all the way forward) is at a height for big truckers window/door/step pad level. For most of us with our p/u trucks we cannot reach up high enough out of the window. Opening your door and standing on your running boards may allow you to reach high enough but possibly not. I learned this the rookie mistake way the first time.

We just simply have gone inside before we got on the scale parked in a proper place on the lot (do not stop in front of the scale) and told the weigh master we have a p/u and fiver. They note this and monitor us from the video on the intercom sign and conduct the weighing process once we are on the scale properly. They can communicate via the speaker too if we need to move back and forth and to let us know the process is complete and to stop inside and get the ticket.

Using the app noted by John in post #11 eliminates the preceding I suspect.

This is what I did. I weighed the truck with just me in it on the way home from the dealer. I weighed it again with the hitch and wife in it. I weighed the 5th wheel after we picked it up from the dealer (totally empty) and I weighed it again on our way south for the winter after it was completely loaded and I had installed the washer, dryer, dishwasher, sat dish, etc.
