It's been a cold and wet winter in Palm Springs

Our cold, wet winter has not been the escape we planned for but it has made for some beautiful scenery...

    Jim,
I had the exact same thoughts
The water is liquid and the grass is green!
when I saw that picture. As I now go out to shovel last nights snow I sure wish I was there. 16F outside

    Cheers,

It was 45 and raining a couple days ago. Much nicer than back home but almost 30 degrees below normal. I think since we got here in mid-December it's only been at or above the average temperature a handful of days and it has rained way, way, WAY more than normal. I'm not complaining because the temps are forecast to actually hit the average highs next week and the forecast for back home is for almost three feet of new snow in the next few days.

    Hi Brian,
Here's my water feature. Much harder to get it to stay liquid
I'm having to use a 1500W stock tank heater.

Yikes! I do love snow. I wish I was home the next few days to be there for the big snow storm. But I'd want to leave soon after!

How are you liking your Solitude Brian ?
How is the residential refrigerator doing?

I have lived in the area for years, love it here, even year round. We own a business, so we are full time here, even in the summer. In a house, not RV. My philosophy is the three bad months of summer pays for the beautiful place to live the remaining nine months. But I ramble, yes, this has been the wettest and coldest "winter" season for us ever, as far as I can remember. Good and bad, good, lots of water and beutiful wild flowers, bad, the desert does not handle that much water well. Lots of clean up, roads out, flooding. But it does dissipate quickly.

We love the coachella valley, hate California and its taxes and political views overall. The desert is pretty conservative.

Enjoy your time here, it really is a paradise, as I write this, the temperatures look normal from here on out.

    Ken
