    Hi Jim,

This sounds like exactly what we are looking for. Do you have brand and maybe even model number?

I agree that is one of the drawbacks. I think whatever Maxxair fan is chosen you can’t go wrong with the quality.

    Here ya go Rob,

"Carefree Freedom wall mount box awning"

    https://www.carefreeofcolorado.com/p...all-mount.html

They have manual or electric. I went with the manual. They are proud of them, mine was about $900(ish) for 8Ft.(ish) at a Carefree dealer.

BTW Rob, if you want maximum air intake via your Maxxfan's, have General RV in Jacksonville install your Maxxfan cover's. Why?? Because their tech will install the covers in the opposite direction than what the instructions call for. That's right, we ended up with a "hood scoop" until I noticed the covers were installed in the wrong direction and they corrected it.

But man-o-man....the air coming into the RV at 70mph was impressive!! LMAO........

Rob periodically put some slide seal lube on the rubber seal of the vent. They tend to stick when closed for long periods of time and the motor really works to break the lid loose. Link for the lube below. As far as getting the old vent/fan off the roof I found that a flick of the wrist toward the nearest trash can to work pretty well. Oh, and your roof is really dirty.

    HI Rob,
I've had the same awning that Jim's link points to for 20 years on my camper and it has held up extremely well. The arms are quite sturdy and survived 55-65 kph winds without any damage.

    Jim

Do the legs have to be deployed? Or can it be used like you have in the picture?

They do not have to be deployed. I think I have only used them once when it was a bit windy.

    Hello,
When using the legs they can be adjusted for different lengths so if it's raining you can select which side the water runs off.
