    Surge tank installed

Added a accumulater tank (2 gallon) and repositioned the water pump so dump valve cables weren’t rubbing. Also added 2 water leak sensors (1 by the pump and tank and another near the water heater). Added a smoke detector near the furnace. Installed the second Maxxair Maxxfan 7500

Is the tank easy to get to and to drain when it's time to winterize?

That’s no lie lol. Last 4 days of working on trailer
    1. Solar system install and recaulked roof sealant were needed
    2. Usb added to each side of bed
    3. Maxxair fans (2 now total)
    4. Accumulator tank
    5. Recaulked shower doors and adjusted movement
    6. Motion lighting in bedroom closet and door to command center

Plus lots of little odds and ends. It’s been raining here a lot which normally doesn’t happen. I had a lot of built up energy and all the parts staged and ready lol

I believe it will be. We live in Las Vegas so I don’t worry to much about winter freezing. Opening the faucets should relieve most of the water. It is also easy to covert back to “normal” operation and just leave it disconnected if I run antifreeze through system.

The surge tank (also called an accumulator tank) will have a diaphragm inside to separate the air side from the water side. When all water pressure is removed, the air pressure behind this membrane should push all the water out of the tank. These tanks are often mounted vertically with the water connection at the bottom, to assist the draining process. See this thread for further discussion on these tanks and how to set the air pressure to maximize usable water volume.

Something interesting I noticed today after hooking water up to the trailer. When I switch from "dry camping" to "power fill of water tank" the accumulation tank dumps its contents (2 gallons) into the fresh water tank. When I'm done filling the fresh water tank I have to turn on pump and it sucks water from fresh water tank and fills accumulator tank. Operator error or normal with this type of fill system? I've never had a fill system like this before.

    Hi Justa5th,

You have the Nautilus water system and I have the previous Kantleak system . . . so there are definitely differences. The valve settings to “city fill” the water tank should isolate the rest of the water system which includes the accumulator tank. I have a pressure gauge on my trailer water system. This gauge doesn’t move when filling the water tank.

I don't know if you've seen the thread linked below, but out of curiosity where is the accumulator in reference to the other components? Having a visual may help explain the "why".

I have not seen that thread so I will give it read. Basically the accumulator tank it located off of the pump discharge.
-removed pump discharge hose and placed on one side of tee on tank
-fed a new line from the tank tee to where the original pump discharge joined the nautilus panel.
