    Odd dealer behavior - well i think so

    Just left the Lazy Days Rv in Knoxville. They are having a big RV sale. Free undercooked hotdogs!
    Asked for a OTD price on Solitude 380FL including the trade in of our 337rls.
    Dealer had none on the lot so they said they would have to call Corp on Monday to get the price of the unit.

    Huh? Big sale. Fixed MSRP from the GD site. And you cant tell me the price of the 380?

    Gotta say I was a bit dumbfounded. No one at Corp on a sat to ask??

    Seemed really odd.

    There have been some discussions on the "tariffs" raising the prices on these units. It may be that the better deals , at least for a little while" would be on ones that have been on the lot for a while that have not gone up in price.

    Maybe the unit belonged to Grand Design and was brought in for the show? Or it just came in? Cut'em some slack.

    When I purchased my last GDRV unit from Lazy Days in Tucson, they made me a very lucrative deal, but couldn't give me the details until they verified it through corporate.

    Depends who does the ordering and actual pricing. MSRP means nothing, like it or not...

    Each location has different freight involved also.

    It isn't rocket science to figure it out, but if no one from that location knows the freight and GP they would have to get it from Corporate.

    I think Grand Design had a recent price increase. I don't blame the dealer for wanting to confirm cost especially if it's a tight deal and they have to order it.

    I have not been to Lazy Days in Knoxville but can tell you from our personal experience that we bought a unit from Cookeville RV for less than what Lazy Days offered.

    Only a fool would make a deal without an invoice on the vehicle they are dealing on...and if they don't have one, how would they have an invoice? Even a ballpark deal would/should be subject to an actual vehicle invoice. Not sure what you were expecting but doesn't sound like you understand the process very well.

    Call me a fool then...

    You don't need an invoice to know pricing.

    All dealers have dealer cost sheets. All dealers have freight costs. All dealers have PDI and prep costs.

    When you know those 3 things, it is easy to figure out what an actual dealer cost is on any unit.

    It is impossible to stock every model of every brand you carry.
