Best source for Slide toppers
Preparing to purchase slide toppers for my recent acquisition (367 BHS).
What's the best source with the best prices.
Have looked at
eTrailer
Amazon
Tweety's (I think it was)
At least one other site.
So far I've been able to find some sites that had SOME of the toppers cheaper than eTrailer, but they don't have all, or in some cases (like Amazon), they say the hardware is ordered separately, and they don't carry the hardware.... or at other sites it is special order and takes weeks.
Looking at Solara toppers. eTrailer seems to be the one source that has the largest selection and in stock.

I found relatively cheap prices on Amazon.com.
On many Grand Design fith wheels, the space between the left side of my entry door and the big living room slide is small. To put a slide topper, I would have to order one a size shorter than normal in order for the topper to clear the arm on my big electric awning. Just be aware.

E trailer is hard to beat. Their phone support people are very knowledgeable and helpful.
That being said, I bought mine from my dealer and had them install. I'm handy but older and didn't want to be on a ladder working overhead. 20 years ago, probably.2018 Imagine 2800bh

We had our dealer install slide toppers, they only installed the toppers on the driver's side slides, because, they couldn't figure out how to install a slide topper on the big dining room slide because of clearance issues between our awning arm and the end of the slide. Of course they were using the bulky standard slide topper hardware that is common among dealers.
We happen to store our rig close to another Grand Design rig that has the slide toppers installed on the Passenger side slide and it appears that they have "Care Free" toppers which are designed with slim arms that do not stick out very far from the end of the topper roller. I also noticed from my build sheet, that Grand Design uses Care Free slide toppers. I haven't yet investigated this, but, I will be looking into the Care Free Slide Toppers soon.
