RV style Electrial Outlet with USB - Any Sources?
I'm trying to help another owner find a black 120VAC outlet with USB capability. I realize there are many of them that are residential style, but we are specifically looking for one that is a self contained RV style. Does anyone know of a source?
Thanks.

Thanks for the help folks. But like you, all I can find are outlets that are designed for residential wiring. These type of outlets rely on screwing the wire to a terminal on the outlet. However, this will not meet the building code requirement of having the wire secured within 12" of the outlet. On a residential application, the wiring is secured to a stud with a wire staple. In an RV, the wiring meets the code via the clamping feature of the outlet itself. Even if an owner were to install a residential outlet box, the wire is still not properly secured to a stud behind the wall. And quite often, a receptical box will be too deep to fit into an RV's walls.
Thanks again.

It worth pointing out that lots of stuff on Amazon surrounding 120v to 5v USB converters are not actually UL certified. Some stuff is still designed well (isolation, etc), others are not. They all will have the UL badge, but some are lying.
Just like towing weights, be informed so you can make a good decision.
