Sarge33Army,
There are mixed opinions in using the EZ Lube hubs to grease the bearings since there is some history where Lippert was over pressuring the hubs at the plant during construction with a low viscosity black lube. The other documented issue back then was original seals were installed dry at the plant and as a result, they leaked. You most likely have Dexter axles which did not have a greased brake issue where the design is the same as Lippert.
At a minimum, if you decide to grease through the hubs, you must have the wheel off the ground and to be spinning it slowly while slowly greasing. This way you will not push out the rear seal. It looks like you used this method and the higher viscosity Mobil1 will not push past the seal.
I originally cleaned all the old thin black Lippert grease from my hubs, hand packed and then filled the hubs with Mobil 1 synthetic while following Lippert's method (same as Dexter's) and have not experienced any braking issues.

I don't buy any grease but Lucas Red and Tacky..........use it for everything. It's as good as any on wheel bearings where hot brakes can cause some grease to thin out. I believe Red and Tacky has a drop point of over 500 degrees.

I’ve never found any tests or conclusive proof that the expensive brands of grease are more than marginally better so I buy what’s on sale.

Lucas must need to do some extra marketing work with axle manufacturers or something, because they're not listed under the approved grease sources for wheel bearings in the Dexter service manual:

Lucas red n tacky has been around for a long time with a good track record. Although not listed in their list, its specs meet and most surpass all the requirements they list in the manual.

My standard routine is to use Lucas red n tacky on all wet bolts and Mystic JT-6 on all bearings. I have not had any problems in 13 years of pulling trailers.
