I am on my second Ford with Factory Puck and 5th wheel prep wiring in bed. I think it is a great setup using my B&W companion.

I have had "Industry Standard" rails and brackets in a previous truck and love the Ford puck system in our current truck. When the hitch is removed, the bed is much cleaner/smoother for hauling, etc. Installation and removal of the hitch with the factory systems is very simple, too.

I installed the Reese puck system in my truck, did not come with factory installation. Rob ^^^ has the same reasoning as me , I like the clean bed also. Easy in and easy out.

I also have the Ford with the factory 5th wheel prep with a B&W hitch. Like how I have a nice clean bed when the hitch is removed.

We never take the hitch out. Best part of leaving it in is no one has ever asked us to help them move or haul anything.

Ram puck and Companion works great for us, we don't take ours out. Have a tonneau cover over it when not in use. Would be simple enough if we needed to remove it and have a clean bed. I bought a set of padlocks keyed the same and locked the puck arms.
