If you all would like to start another thread I will move these posts over to it.
So back to the fridge space topic.

Go for it Rob.
Start one called eating to live!
Although I doubt there will be very much participation other than people calling us crazy. I thought about starting such a thread months ago but feared it would be too controversial for this crowd.

If you're not going to be boondocking, lots of people remove their RV refrigerators and replace them with residential fridges. You get more space and more efficient operation. What you loose is the ability to cool unless you have electric hookups, have a generator, or extra batteries, solar panels and an inverter. The last time we had to have our fridge repaired, I said that, if it broke down again, we'd replacing it with a Samsung residential unit. They're about 1/3 the price of a new 12 cu. ft. Norcold.

My understanding is that a residential fridge runs on about half the amperage of an RV fridge. Which is why we might one day make the change over to residential since we already run our fridge on electric using our solar. Going through the inverter the 8 cuft residential only pulls 15a and we’re putting out out almost 80a peak so it’s trivial.
