Timbren Question
Planning on installing a set 0f Timbren SES today. 2017 Ram 3500.
I've assembled the components, and when the bolt is tight, the spacer and rubber bump stop is loose. The bolts don't tighten any more. Tried the smaller bolt without the spacer, and same result.
Are the spacer/bumpstops supposed to be slightly loose kinda wobbling around? I assume so, since both assemblies are doing that, with either the small bolt (sans spacer) or with long bolt, with spacer.
Of course, today's sunday so they are closed. Hoping someone here has installed and can confirm.
Thanks

When I installed my timbrens they fit pretty tight in the existing bump stop cups. I just removed them from my truck and I had to push pretty hard on them to get them out. (Took them out to install on my new truck). Not sure if that helps you or not.

Thanks, but think the Ram design is different. There is no bump stop cup that they go into. Bolt together to a bracket, and the bracket bolts to the frame above the axle, in the OEM position.

Figured it out. Just had to get some leverage to really torque it down.
Didn't think I should have to use that much torque, but they are tight now.

It's been a while now, and I'm new here. How do you like the Timbrens?

I want to add that they were a little difficult to seat into the cup. So, I used a couple of 2x4s under each one then lowered the truck down to get'em to seat.

Thanks for that response. How much sag do you get as a result of the install? What truck did you mount them on?

I like them quite well. No issues for two years running. I think mine dropped maybe 1.5 or max 2 inches with 5er hitched up.

When hooking up the fifth wheel, the bed will drop about 2".
The truck is a Sierra 2500HD Duramax diesel.
