Honda EU2200 Generator and a 2019 337RLS Bedroom AC
Tell me if I am crazy, but do these spec sheets indicate that the Honda EU2200 can easily run the bedroom AC in my 337RLS?
According to the sheets even under "desert conditions" the bedroom AC will only pull 1625 watts. A single Honda EU2200i runs nominal at 1800. I just want to make coffee, run the toaster oven and the bedroom AC but not at the same time. Mainly will only run the AC when we are at a truck stop overnight and need the bedroom ac to sleep.
The amps are good too. 13.6 on the AC vs 15 on the 2200.

The start current for a 15k AC is about 40 amps, not sure what it would be for a 13.5k. Most smaller generators have a big problem with inductive loads because of that start spike. You could run it with the addition of a MicroAir easy start based on thier claims.

Bill - see this thread with Ed's post #23.......Honda EU2200 does just fine: https://www.mygrandrv.com/fo...t=eu2200+honda
I suspect if you do some searching on key words of interest to you, you will find other threads as well.

I coulda sworn I posted a heads up about Honda's EU2200, but my searching didn't come up with anything. So - sorry if I'm repeating this.
There's a recall out for the EU2200's that are within a certain serial number range (sorry....I don't have those numbers in front of me, but I'm sure a Google search will provide that). The recall is for the fuel shut off switch. IIRC, some have failed causing a fire. Other than a unit being within the serial number range, you can tell if you have the old style by looking at the S/O valve. If it has "OFF" and "ON" stamped on it, you're probably due for the replacement. I need to warn you that accessing the S/O valve is easier said than done as you have to break the unit down.
Oh - and how do I know this? My part time job is at an outdoor power equipment store and I've done the swap out on 5 units already and there's another 8 stacked around my workbench. I'm pretty sure I'll be swamped when word gets out to EU2200 owners that Honda is now shipping the updated S/O valve.
