Some days you have it.. others you don't
So, Im not new to trailers, but new to 5ers. Still getting used to my 367BHS. Anyways, we went out this weekend for our second trip.
Got to the camp ground (state park), and the spot had ditches on either side of the entrance, and a truck right on the edge of the road across from the spot. I nailed it perfectly (no not the truck ...) Got tucked in nice and easily.
Come home today, and I couldn't get the damn thing in my driveway to save my life. Took me forever. Don't know what the heck was going on, but NOTHING was working right.
Some days it just works, other days it doesn't matter what you do, it ain't happening.

Practice - you need to take more trips Now when you get home and get it right, remember the landmarks of where you stopped, your turn point etc.
Every time the neighbor backs up his long drive with his 5er I get jealous. First time every time. Then the other day he mention he he has spotting points he lines up with.

I have more difficulty backing into my own driveway (which I have done many, many times) than any campsite . . . I think it is neighbor audience pressure .

Did try to hit my normal marks.. Think someone musta moved 'em
Speaking of audience pressure, I have NEVER seen so many cars up and down my street at one time as I did this evening. I ended up going around the block once just because of the traffic! My street is not normally that busy.
Maybe that was it.. I musta parked in the wrong neighborhood!
And yes powerscol.. I absolutely MUST have more practice!!

I told my husband "I don't care if it takes you 20 tries to get into a spot, as long as you don't hit anything." Sometimes he hits it on the first try, others not so much. Of course, even on some of those first time successes, he has to "adjust" because "it's not straight enough."

Usually folks in the CG have had the same problem backing in, so they are very helpful and silent. Neighbors - well they just enjoy watching us struggle backing up into the driveway. One because it's not them and two they don't have a trailer so in there mind it's a piece of cake. I our storage lot we have to make a couple of jags to get into our space. If the boat parked in front of our space did not back all the way in then we have about 2 inches clearance between their hitch and our trucks front bumper. Always a challenge, had another guy giving me the business because it was taking so long, so he got into the truck to "show me how it was done" after about 20 minutes he drove the truck and trailer around the storage lot and out, parked it got in his truck and left. Never said a word.

I just don’t bring my 5th wheel home......problem solved! On a serious note most drives are on a 90 degree angle making it more difficult than a campground which is more of a 45 but don’t feel lonely I’ve been backing campers since the early 1990’s and your completely correct......some days you have it...others you don’t!!
