    Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon California

Avoid this RV "resort" at all cause!
This was the WORST Thousand Trails park we've had the misfortune of checking into.
I'm compiling a long(er) list and have taken video and dozens of photos that I'll be sending to the TT corporate office, but I'll go ahead and just post a quick rundown of the issues here...

There's no Ranger station or guard shack.
So what we witnessed is 1 person will check in, get the code, and give it to 20 other people.
The usual warning signs like "No tents on grass" are ignored.
    No one enforces any rules.
People were partying and carrying on till 2am every single night we were there.
(so we left 3 days early!)
There were kids in the adults only pool.
A massive nice pool that looked perfectly fine but was always closed.
General store had lights on, all coolers full and shelves stocked but a closed for maintenance sign on it even though it looked like it has been closed for years.
Gang bangers "meeting up" on the pickleball courts.
Dead trees everywhere, trash and nails everywhere.
Overgrown landscaping, parts of the park looked as if it has been deserted for 30 years.
Two THIRDs of the park didn't have electricity. Many sites that were marked on the map FHU had no sewer!
Some people were doing 20 or 30 mph in through the park right next to where people are camping and this place is mostly gravel and dust!
All 5 dumpsters were in one part of the campground in section prone to deep mud.
    Little to no cell service.
The free wifi was only on for ONE HOUR each day and you had to drive to the office to get a new wifi password every day.
The manager was never anywhere to be found (to listen to complaints).

I live not to far from there. Drove thru there once to check it out & no way would I stay there. It looked more like a "trailer park" than a campground.
People keep telling me to follow my dreams...so I went back to bed

Oh and I forgot to mention the trains that come by (tracks are maybe a hundred yards away) several times every day and 1am 4am and 5am and blow their horns.

    Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon California

Some idiots park end to end in one RV spot so only one party has to pay.

And of course the useless TT employees do nothing to discourage people from blatantly breaking rules.

Sounds like Thousand Trails PA Dutch, here in PA.
Manager caters to full times who's sites have so much yard junk (bird feeders, signs, gnomes, lights, etc)on them. When you check in they escort you to the site they choose for you. But the rules read it's on first come first serv. Bases.
If you don't have a class A motor home with 3 A/C they don't allow you into the 50 amp loop. I always say I probably pay more in dues then those people do. Because there retired and had there dues frozen.
I get frustrated every time I go there. So I just stopped until I hear its under new management. And they won't get rid of the manager because they don't have any one to replace her. That's just stupid, and turning a blind eye to the problem.

Is this kind of thing common to many Thousand Trails campsites or just a select few? We’ve never stayed at one. They seem to be older parks in general.

Well I can say of the few other parks I stayed at this isnt common. I stayed at some pretty nice places. It all comes down to management.

We've only stayed at one TT campground. It was pretty old and most of the buildings were fairly run down. BUT, there were lots of nice people there, and the clubhouse had a nice puzzle room (lots of puzzles & 4 different ones in the works on the tables). They also had just put in a new propane filling station.

One thing I didn't care for was not being able to reserve a specific spot. Only the right to drive in and find a spot. After 2 trips around the campground, we managed to fit into a small corner spot (on the main road into the campground, so a lot of traffic all day/night).

Paid 900.00 dollars in one of these parks near Orlando, several years ago, to be near the kids for a week. Turned out they weren't able to make it so we cancelled. No refund, but they told us we could use the money back home in SC. so we got back, with intentions of doing just that. They had a CG on a lake not to far from us so we checked it out. Wouldn't have put me and my camper there if they had paid me. Junk, filth of every kind, people living in old units that had never been washed, and two older men sitting right on the roadway that appeared to be drunk.Couldnt get out fast enough. We lost our 900.00 dollars.Never again, as a lesson well learned.I know some of TT parks have to be better than that.Never pay in full to a CG again before we arrive.Never would I book TT again!Just my 2 cents worth.
