    Question for Ram Owners

My previous and present trucks - a 2017 2500 with premium cloth seats and 2018 Big Horn with leather trimmed cloth seats, which were both purchased new had issues with the material on the driver seat showing significant fraying. Both started with less than 3K miles. When getting recall maintenance done on the 2017, I reported it under warranty, and it was denied. I'm pretty upset that after a significant upgrade to the diesel, it is happening again. I can't be the only one experiencing this problem - anyone else see this happening?

    Hello,
I drive mine daily and the seats are holding up pretty good after 3.5 years.

    FatTire-

They did warranty the leather seats in my 2015 RAM 2500 Laramie, after a year the seats started stretching out and wrinkling up. I complained and they replaced them. But that was when the local RAM dealership was privately owned, not sure how that would go over now that Lithia has bought them out. I think a lot depends on the service manager you are dealing with.

I have 2014 Ram 2500 Laramie and just the seam on the drivers exit side is showing wear. Fortunately, my son has clients that build trucks for SEMA and he got a couple original covers from one of those trucks.

Here is what it looks like - I'm not a big guy, but the truck is my daily driver. It just ticked over 5K miles - I don't consider this as wearing normally. Heck, I had a 2002 Tundra with cloth seats, and this never happened.

Looks like it's caused from what you're wearing. My 12 Ram only has slight scuffing on the left side of the bolster on the drivers seat from me sliding in and out. My 18 Ram has cloth seats and doesn't show anything in 1 year and 7,000 miles. I'm in and out of it 2-4 times a day.

Doesn't seem right to me. IMO they should fix it for free @5K miles. I would check on the Ram forum to see if anyone there was able to get service for that problem.

Hope you find a satisfactory solution,
    Kevin

I've got the leather package in my 2018 and so far so good, but I'm only 2600 miles in. My 06' Ram had cloth and they still looked good in 2015 when I traded it in on the f350.
I'm not sure why the issues now, sorry to hear this.
