Hot water for about 1 minute, then barely warm

First trip in our Solitude MBS377, not our first trailer. The hot water heater (12 Gallon) fires up (propane) and does get hot. When we turn on the hot water faucet, we'll get HOT water for about a minute, then it becomes luke warm at best. It makes showers fun! It's not just at the shower, but at any faucet.

Has anyone experienced this? Any tips?

RV hot water heaters have a back check valve at the outlet of the heater. There has been a few reported instances of the valve recently failing. Typically, the failure mode is debris getting in the valve. I'd suggest that you turn off the water heater and drain it. Then remove the valve and check it for obstructions.

Another possibility is the outside spray port knobs may be rotated on. What happens is the hot and cold mix going through the plumbing making it seem cold.

Double-check that the outside spray knobs are off.

Oops. Forgot about that issue Howard. Of course that's the first thing to check.

This was the issue... with the twist connector disconnected, I forgot all about it.
