    Missing skirt support hanger screw

Quick question. Looking underneath the trailer the other day, I noticed a loose skirt support that was missing a screw. Does anyone know the type of screw and size needed? Is it a sheet metal screw? And does it need a washer? Thanks

Looks like it would be a self tapping sheet metal screw. You might also consider putting a little blue Loctite on the screw before you install it.

Just make sure what you use is not to long.

You can find hex head self-tapping screws that have the washer attached to screw.
I always use coated tappers and pre-drill a 1/8" hole first.
Keeps screw from skipping and the "head start" allows tap to cut nicely into steel w/o burning through threads by over-drilling.

Been awhile since I replaced skirt self drilling screws in the frame web. Seems they were number 8 size.
I found mine usually want to shear off the head they're so tight along with normal rust that builds up on the threads.
I think I got a couple out with vise grips on the remaining screw from the other side, then tapped them as machine screws.
