The drop would be a belt shift. Get the wheel spinning pretty good to get a good look.
I spun the tire. No wobble, but there is a big difference in how close the bottom of the tire is to the ground. The area that has the most wear is closest to the ground, significantly closer. I don't see any problem with the wheel from the side view when it's spinning either. I feel blessed that it didn't blow out on our last trip.

The other three tires look fine. But considering the history of this brand given in this thread, I will replace them all with Maxxis.

    Thanks,

    Hi Dave,

This is a “different” tire manufacturing defect. Haven’t heard of this one before. Thanks for the follow-up.

I went to Maxxis tires, before Endurance Tires were available. Maxxis has a good track record over many years and I have been pleased with mine, so far.

When that tire is spinning does it look like one spot suddenly looks longer at one point. If it does that means you have a broken belt in that tire and it needs to be replaced. That doesn't necessarily mean it's a defect in the tire. More than likely it happened from an impact like hitting a big pothole.

It covers a fairly large area. It looks longer, reaches the peak, then recedes. It is not like a small, abrupt bulge. If it was caused by a pothole, the front tire would have hit the same one, and it doesn't have any obvious damage. It may be they both hit a pothole, and a weakness in the back one caused this condition. I don't think the flaw could have been this pronounced for all 12,000 miles, the tire would have never survived. I can't imagine what this tire looks like going down the road now. I'm just glad I got it home. It's next trip is to get new tires installed.

It was a belt separation. A better view of it off the wheel. BTW, I ended up buying Goodyear Endurance to replace the Westlakes.

Just had two blow outs with Westlake Tires on one side of unit, ruined one rim a little fender damage.
Is there a way of getting any compensation from for this as they had 3000 miles on fitted to a 2019
    Solitude.

    Thanks,
    Eric.

When mine blew I had over $3000 worth of damage. The Westlake/Lionshead warranty gave me replacement cost of the 2 blown tires. They did not cover collateral damage. If you have already discarded the bad tires you will not get anything. You will need info off of the tires, (date code, serial number, logo, tire size) you will need pictures of the damaged tire. They have a form on their website you can download and fill out. One for each tire. You submit the form and they or may not reimburse you. I think I got about $150 out of them....

Ok wait, a 2019 Solitude should have G rated Westlakes. Can you give us more info on what happened and confirm if they were 16 inch G rated tires? If so this may be a first for the G's.
