Don't be embarrassed! Everyone had been there too. If they say they haven't you can look em straight in the eye and call them a liar![emoji6]

It has always been my procedure to leave small amount of fluid in tanks. It keeps seals wet and lubricated. I totally drained one years ago and almost caused seal replacement for both tanks. Others may have different experience.

I have to say that it's never happened to me......really. No lie. I certainly hope that no one would be so bold to question a person's integrity over something like that. BTW, I use the gate valve also and it works beautifully to keep grey tanks equalized.

The drain lines on the trailer are so close to level that it is difficult to drain everything . . . even if the gate valves are not leaking.

I have a bucket that I place under the drain connection and I keep the cap in "deflector position" as I unscrew it. Anything behind the cap lands in the bucket. I dump the bucket down the hole, rinse it at the tap before connecting the water hose and the sewer hose. A completely "dry hands" process.

There is a mathematical equation for this . . .
The number of "backing into the site" adjustments is proportional to the number of people watching. No one watching . . . it might as well have been a pull through site. 10 people watching means it will take 10 adjustments .
Equation is squared if there is another rig waiting to get by .

Chairs all lined up at the edge of site. Kind of resembles a line of crows on a high tension power line. However you'll miss it if you arrive after 4:30 as they have all dispersed to the local restaurants for the Early Bird.

I was wondering if I was waiting long enough for it all to drain down. Also glad it is just my grey water tank and I'm not the only one. lol. Just and FYI, on the first trip when I went to dump my tanks, I looked at the values and thought that is not right. Sure enough, the values were wrong. Glad I just barely cracked the value for a look see. I put in new stickers on when we got home just in case some one was giving me a hand.

Nothing like a audience to make sure things go badly. Then more spectators come to see the fun. That is when for me things really turn ugly. Boat ramps are the same way.
