Was talking to someone who owns a Tesla the other day at a conference. He got a screw in the tire and went to get it plugged. I don't remember the reason, but tires on Tesla's can't be plugged, so he has to buy a new tire. And none are available, so the car sits waiting for a $500 tire when a vehicle from another OEM could get a $30 plug and on their way!
One of the top 5 sources of micro-plastics in the environment are from tires. So if EVs are heavier, they will likely have more wear and generate more micro-plastics versus a lighter vehicle, over the same range of miles.New: 2021 Solitude 380FL

Very strange about not being able to be plugged. I wonder what the reasoning is. Heck, you can even plug motorcycle tires.

This thread cracks me up. The tag line is "is a 48v RV in your future". What happened?

From 48v RVs to EV bashing.
Entegra is building at least one model of 48v motorhome for 2024.
I wonder if anyone complained about changing from horses to automobiles 100 yrs ago?MB, Ab and Ufki (under foot kitty)

The URL below is a very interesting article about horses and autos in the late 1890s written by Alexander Winton who built and sold the first American made ICE car in 1897. From a 1930 Saturday Evening Post.
And, my grandparents had both - horse and auto in early 1900s. When the roads were too muddy, horse and buggy. Long distance was train. Taking this one step further, my dad always complained about automatic transmissions - would never buy one into the 1970s as he didn't trust them and wanted to manually shift - always three on the tree.

Perhaps "bashing" is too strong of a term.
Maybe atavism is closer.MB, Ab and Ufki (under foot kitty)
