Water Softener Question
Has anyone gone the water softener route? We spend 5 months of the winter in Mesa AZ and the city water has a high concentration of calcium and magnesium (hard water). It definitely leaves white deposits on faucets, streaks in the shower, and in our old unit we seemed to be changing out lots of check valves as they would stick partially open. I know there are a bunch of highly rated RV softeners on Amazon but have never talked to someone who uses them. Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation or any advice. Couldn't find much about it using the search function. Thanks.

Thanks. I guess the guy on that thread who said this summed it up fairly well.
"On-The-GO or FlowPur.......whichever is on sale!! Both do the same thing, do it the same way, are regenerated using same method."
Just kind of curious if any of the "long timers" or "full timers" on this forum use any of these softeners and what their experiences have been.Gary & Marcy

We've had our softener for at least 10 years and would not be without it. I think it is an On-The-Go, but don't remember and we are away from the camper now, so can't look. It is an easy process to regenerate - pour in salt (10 ounces if I remember) and run the unit at a very slow rate until there is no salt taste the water in the water coming out (15 to 20 minutes).

Thanks for the reply. Always good to see if these things are actually worth having or not. We ordered one from Amazon and will give it a try.

I am on my second water softener, I upgraded last winter to a larger unit. I would not want to be without.
