We did a lot of research prior to getting a hitch and decided on the B&W Companion and love it! I thought I might need one of those Blue Ox bed protectors because we have friends that have crushed their tailgates, but with B&W that's totally not needed.

mageorge I also have a short bed Ram 3500. I have purchased a Momentum 388M. Can you turn and back up without a hitch that slides?? I am trying to determine if a sliding hitch is necessary or unnecessary to make those sharp turn in campgrounds and other tight situations......

You can with the Pullrite Super Glide models. No getting out of the truck needed automatically does all the work for you

I haven't seen the need for a slider, but I keep a good eye on my turning. For 6-800 extra on the B&W it becomes an comfort and insurance issue for you.

I have an Dodge 3500 with an 8' bed and a B&W Companion hitch. I use the truck for much more than just towing so not having the rails in the bed is a must for me. I love the setup and find it very easy to install and remove and it tows very well. It is my first fifth wheel set up and I am very happy with it.

Well Teamam you convinced me, and after much research, I am going to purchase the PullRite Super Glide 2900 hitch. One question though, does anyone know which capture plate fits the 388M Momentum's king pin???

Contact pull rite with the info from the 5vr hitch and they will help you they helped me. Do you have oem hitch ready bed?

Yes, the truck bed came from the factory with holes/pucks in the bed ready for a hitch...........

Ok. Ask pull rite if you need rails for the 2900. As an fyi I bought my 2900 online for $938 from a place in Houston and the rails from a guy on ebay in NC
