    Which 5th wheel hitch?

I am new to 5th wheeling. Picking up our new Reflection 337RLS in 3 weeks and need to decide which 5th wheel hitch to get. I have a F-350 with an 8' bed and the 5th wheel prep package. I am thinking of getting the Companion hitch by B&W that is made to be used with this set up. Does anyone have any experience using this hitch? Good or bad? Thanks.

We did a lot of research prior to getting a hitch and decided on the B&W Companion and love it! I thought I might need one of those Blue Ox bed protectors because we have friends that have crushed their tailgates, but with B&W that's totally not needed.

I used a B&W Companion for 6 years with my previous camper and sold it with the camper. I just ordered my new Reflection unit today and put in a new Companion as part of the deal with my dealer. I have not used the puck system, but B&W makes quality products and have excellent customer service too. I would not think twice about using their products.

I am pretty happy with the trailer saver BD3 - see http://www.trailersaver.com/product/...h-wheel-hitch/ - it has two air pancakes which can be adjusted. The BD3 can be taken apart so that I can disconnect the hitch from the trailer by myself - I frequently have my wife help me get the base up or down from the truck bed. The main advantage of this unit is that the air pancakes can adsorb shocks from the trailer rather than having a direct force transmitted from the trailer to the truck when going over a bump.

With the 305 solitude and a 2008 ford 250 superduty with a short bed I did not need the slider.

We have the Air-safe hitch which has 4 large air bags and 2 shocks that takes out 90 % of the rough ride. 4 bolts and it will come out in 2 pieces that are not hard to manage.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I will look at the air shock hitches too. Like the idea of taking the shock off the axels of the truck.

Check out Comfort Ride Hitches. Works great with my 337 and 2005 Chevy 2500HD.

My Husky 16K has 18K miles of towing and usually keeps most of the whale behind me.

I have a Reese 20K for towing my 369. I had a 16K slider that came out of my short-bed, but upgraded because of the weight of the 369 as compared to the previous 5th wheel.
