    Garnet SeeLevel II Install

I decided to start a new thread on my install of the Garnet SeeLevel II 709 system. I had put it in the "My Modding Progress" Thread, but I don't think many people stop by to check this out as it wasn't a specific topic. So here it is...

I am busy installing the Garnet SeeLevel II tank monitor. It's been a long road, still got to put the sensors on the tanks, but all things considered, I've done more then pop a whole in my camper and put a new display.

1st) I started with studying my current control panel and to see how I wanted to install the SeeLevel display. So this is what I started with.

It's just the stock panel from GD and it was lacking some luster. So, I looked for a way to make one off panel to put in its place. I contacted the company that made these panels for our Momentums, but they told me they do not do one off panels. Hmm? What to do...So used the search feature in google to find ideas and I found a company that will do it, but you had to draw up everything yourself, which this took some time getting this drawn up as you needed to makes sure everything was exact and accurate as there wasn't a return policy on these one off panels. After 2 weeks of waiting it arrived the other day.

2nd) After I ordered the new control panel I also ordered the SeeLevel direct from Garnet with 3 junior sensors and 1 regular sensor. I ordered the 3 junior sensors as my tanks were only 7" tall and I would have to cut the regular down a lot to make it fit right. I ordered the 709-4P which gives me 4 tanks to monitor, Battery and also the water pump switch. I also ordered an additional display without the pump switch for the wet area. This way I can see what my tanks are while flushing them. This should be a huge benefit to getting better cleaning results.

3rd) I measured and measured and measured my area that I was going to cut my new hole for the wet area. This is what I got for that.

I think it came out awesome and I love the fact now I can see whats going on in the tanks without walking around and back into the camper to push the dummy lights to see how much is in the tank.

4th) Everything was ready to go, so now I had to trace and write down where every wire went to behind the control panel on all those switches. This was a chore. Spent a good 3 hours doing this to make sure I had them all rights as I was disconnecting every wire to pull all the switches out the old panel and put them in the new panel. This is a rats nest as well of wires, so triple checking this is key. Here is everything I got in to do the job. I decided too, to run all new wires just for the sensors. That way if I may have wanted to go back to the old way I could.

Here is a close up of the new panel, it's made out of aluminum and fit was beautiful.

5th) After all the switches were put back in and wires connected, this is what my panel looks like now with a nice new Momentum Logo to go with it for added effect.

Now to get under the camper and start installing the sensors after all this rain stops. I will update that when I get started.

Slick job Stephen. I will be waiting to see pictures of the work you have to do underneath! Take a lot of pictures

BTW, that panel is cool and very custom.

I just camped with my FIL last weekend and his high dollar diesel pusher was lacking the wet compartment monitor panel. He added it and says it has saved him so much grief yelling about "what do they show now" kind off stuff, it should be standard. Nice work, ver curious to see what it takes to finish the job. Thanks for taking the time to take picture and post for the rest of us.

    Garnet SeeLevel II Install

Finally had enough of a break in the rainy weather for me to get under the unit and start taking down the belly. One I removed the under belly, I had great access to the gray and black tank.

    Here's the Gray Tank

I can tell by the looks of it, I have a "38" gallon black tank (it shows that on the actual tank) and a bigger gray tank. But I ended up getting the 710JS senders for these two tanks as they were only 8" high and I would be cutting off a lot on the 710ES senders. The 710JS are just 6" tall, so if you take away 3/4" from top and 3/4" from bottom of the tank (per the manuals instructions), then I'm down to 6-1/2" anyways. So these worked for my two front tanks.

    Gray Tank permanent attached.

Very important that you clean where you will put the senders on the tank very thoroughly. This will insure you have permanent adhesion.

Once I had the senders where they needed to be and also tested filled the black tank and grey tank to insure that it was reading correctly, I buttoned everything up in the front and will be taking down the belly under the axel to get to the fresh tank and second black tank.

I do love how I can read the percentages of tank level instead of the old E-1/3-2/3-F lights. I took a video to show how the monitor reads as I'm draining the tank.

This is from the monitor in the wet bay. This sure is a great addition to this whole mod.

So I finally got the last two sensors installed. I installed the 710ES on the fresh water tank as it is taller and I also installed the 710JS on the second black tank.

I also learned that my washer hookup in the rear is also the same tank as the toilet. So I hope to never over fill this tank as this would be a crappy situation.

This is the small area I had to work in to get the rear sensor installed on the black tank. It was tuff but I got it on.

    Here it is installed.

The Fresh tank was easier, but still had to work around the belly cover.

Here it is installed. Again, it was a pain getting some of this installed, but with all fresh wire to each sensor and two displays to see my tank levels in percentage amounts. This surely will be nice to know what's in my tank then just guessing it still might be 1/3 full.

Nice install. I would like to do the same to our 337 at some point. I was planning on using the existing sensor wires. It looks like you ran new ones?
