Greased brakes at around 2000 miles, didnt want to open that can of worms prior to the first trip. Trying to get scheduled with the dealer now, but the lack of communication may mean I am getting this fixed locally.

It says I have already voted in the poll, but I heed a second yes vote because our initial set failed big time in less than 5 months! My axles were recalled/ replaced for being 5200 lb. instead of 6000 lb. in July 2015, 14 months of service. The seals in the new axles failed in less than 10 months, I installed self-adjusting brakes from etrailer.

I'm the one that started this poll and I feel kind of bad that I didn't choose better options to vote on. Sorry about that folks. I think these options might have been better:

    - Yes, my grease seals failed
    - No, I've checked my grease seals and they are fine
    - I haven't checked my grease seals yet

MORryde just cut the Lippert suspension out from under our rig this morning... one of three brake drums had grease in it (just under 10K miles).

I think you chose just fine. Now if Grand Design looks at this maybe something will happen. I replaced the brakes myself, this way we will all be counted not just the ones that had the problem taken care of under warranty.

    Brian,

I think your original questions are close enough. Thanks for starting this poll.
Anyone finding grease outside the seal but not on the brakes is just a few miles from greased brakes.
These results will be biased by the number of folks who have had problems being the ones most closely following this topic.
But, this will still be a valuable piece of data.

An interesting question raised earlier . . . is this only Reflections ?
I don't think so, but those reporting greased brakes are predominately Reflection owners . . . Hmmmm ?

Grease was past the seals on 3 wheels but I caught mine early (<2000 miles) before it greased the brakes. I had the old black/thin grease cleaned out, repacked bearings, replaced the seals. Never used the EZ grease system before (or after), no problems now. As I said earlier the trailer service company I use said pumping in that grease and filling the hub is of no benefit. They have been in business for 40+ years.

Rob, I think someone a couple of weeks ago had grease soaked brakes on ALL 6 wheels of their brand new Momentum!
