I honestly don't know. Give Performance Braking a call. They can answer that question. My gut says no, you won't need it. But I am not the expert by any means.

Come on Dave. Brake upgrades are a good thing regardless of size of towable.

Just depends on how fast you want to stop in an emergency.

I can stop pretty quickly, have had to a few times, it always seems to be women in tiny cars wanting me to run over them!
I guess it was kind of a dumb question.
I'm sure it would help, just seems like overkill, like upgrading to 9k lb axles, for such a tiny lightweight trailer.
Especially one being towed by a 9000 lb truck.

The key here is the 9000# truck and 9000# trailer. When you get up to the 13000# rigs and above your truck to camper ratio has swung the other way far. Not that I think disc brakes are not worth it I am considering these myself but I think they really shine on the heavier rigs.

    Just my thoughts....

Oh bummer! I was looking forward to seeing you again. Don't forget to call the resort to cancel your reservation.

Me too. We'll be up there sometime. Maybe when we retire in 2 or 3 years.

Resort notified and already replied back.

Whoever gets our spot is required to report back on how great a time they had. KEN

Yesterday, one of those women in small cars with a death wish proved the value of my disk brake investment. Came around a blind corner in a construction zone and the small car was stopped trying to decide if she wanted to turn in to a driveway or just go somewhere else and cause an accident. The truck brakes were in full ABS mode and we came to a stop less than ten feet from the car in front of us who had also slammed on their brakes. Absolutely no doubt that drum brakes would have taken at least another ten feet to stop. I marked the brake mod as paid for and if I could improve them even more, I would.

I'll let my wife know you think I should upgrade to that candy apple red F450 I saw the other day!

I have had a couple of recent cancellations for the rally which has opened up spots at the resort. Watch your email. I am emailing direct to people on the waitlist as well as sending the EventBrite notification. You only have 24 hours to claim the spot before we move on to the next person. I have a long wait list and will not hold spots if you don't respond.
