Okay, I may be a nelipot, but that's a story for another day. My point in mentioning that is whenever I walk Duke and Nyla, I walk them barefoot. I do that because if the ground is too hot for my feet, it's too hot for the dogs paws. Especially here in the desert southwest, the sidewalk and street can become extremely hot. I have checked it with my infrared thermometer and found the asphalt to be as much as 160 degrees. And I see people walking their dogs oblivious to the suffering those poor dogs are experiencing trying to walk on that hot asphalt in the heat of the day. Walk them early morning or late afternoon! If you must walk them in the afternoon, leave YOUR shoes at home and go barefoot!
