    to re winterize or not

I am picking up my Reflection 315 on Tues. The question is do I have them re winterized after the PDI or not the temp will get down to the teens but I am going to stay at a campground for 1 night before driving home., and I would like to test everything for a night.

If you are going to stay in a CG for a night and test everything it would make no sense to have them re-winterize after the PDI. If you are going to park it after your night in the CG you might want to re-winterize if the nights are still getting cold. Just my thoughts.

I do want to test it, I plan on draining everything before I drive back to Colorado. I will winterize it when I get home. Will these hold up to that cold of temps?

Depending on how long of a drive and how cold the temps you may want to have your trailer winterized before you drive back. Another thought is if the temps are really cold you may just want the dealer to winterize after the PDI and do the shake-down test at a later date when the temps are a little warmer.

That would be my vote. You can still sleep in it overnight, even though it's winterized. You just won't have any water.

Read up both in the manual, and on-line, about the steps and things to pay attention to when winterizing. It only takes at most two jugs of antifreeze, and can go pretty quickly - although if you are new, it will take longer as you figure out where everything is, how to get at it, etc. But still, another good thing to learn about as you are going through shaking it down. So do it as part of your tear down when leaving the campground.

NOTE: even if the dealer de-winterized as part of the PDI, guaranteed that he didn't sanitize. Or maybe even flush it very well. Normal RV antifreeze is completely non-toxic, but still kinda gross if you have residual in the water. And sanitizing before first use is always a necessity. So attach your hoses, fill your fresh tank, etc. for testing. But I'd avoid consuming any of the water on this first trip. Sanitizing takes a few hours, so save that for prior to your first real trip.

That was one concern to sanitize, doing it is easy this is my 3rd Rv, because I have had the taste of rv anti freeze and it not good.
I have decided not to de winterize it is just 1 night just wait till warmer weather for the true shakedown.

What is the average cost of your local dealer to de-winterize your rig?

Our dealer charges $100 to winterize in the fall and de-winterize come spring, also included a once over inspection. . . . . .
