It's not you. I originally posted this picture in a thread when I was asking about the bend on the hanger. Come to find out, the hanger is wider than the spring, so the outer flange bends in when torque is applied. It's sure ugly, but that's the way Lippert does things.

Im getting ready to order steel to make and weld in some V clips. My hangers appear to be a hair bigger then 3/16 but smaller then 1/4 inch steel. Does the V clip thickness matter? Also is it one continuous piece or to welded at the point of the V?

I don't think the thickness is that critical. Mine are just under 1/4" and I think Lippert uses 1/4" thickness. The Lippert clips are bent at about 90 degrees. I built mine from 2 pieces welded together as I have no way to bend that material.

I remember there being something about the UO12-029 kit not being exactly right for factory Correct Track, so they came up with UO12-031.

This quote from [email protected] in a March 2017 email to me . . . "As long as the Correct Track was factory installed the UO12-031 will work"

I don't know if Jennifer is still the right contact . . . but, it would be a place to start.

Just been talking with Jennifer about this shackle kit she is saying U012-029 for correct track. But mentions 2 1/4 shakels but I have 3 1/8 . Do plan to put on the cre 3000 though ….Really confused now!!!

MORryde used to have a chart on their website that identified which kit was for which application. I can’t find that chart anymore. All I can say is that the chart showed the 031 kit for my application (with 3 1/8” shackles) and it fit correctly.

Apparently the U012-031 is the correct kit for correct track but can't use the cre 3000 equalizer due do to having a 4 1/2 centre hanger. So either stay with stock equalizer or replace them so all parts are new along with the springs ....clean slate sort of speak and keep the old pass springs as spares in case a road side repair is needed.

Apparently now the U012-031 will fit the cre 3000.
Makes it harder when the manufacturer is confused. Oh well square now.

attached is the document I received from MORryde to make sure I got the proper size. I ordered the CRE2-35 and UO12-029 and they worked fine.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Dave
Thanks for the chart, the U012-029 kit is with 2 1/4 shackles and U029-031 are for the 3 1/8 shackle which I have. Both work for the cre 3000 equalizer. Don't want to change ride height just want to replace the factory weak points.

I have followed this thread from the beginning, and just reread the whole thing. I appreciate all the effort and thought that went into this. Now I would like your recommendation for what I should do. I have the longer hangers. I'm not sure how much risk there is for failure, but if it doesn't cost too much, I would rather just prevent it in the first place. My interpretation is the rear hangers have highest risk, with the right side the highest risk. Would it make sense to have the V clips welded in on just the rear hangers? If so, what type of business should I look for to do the work, and about how much should it cost?

    Thanks,
    Dave
