Ford SuperDuty: What PIDs in Forscan Lite do you monitor?
I watched a (long!) YouTube video so I've got the basics of setting up ForScan Lite (android only) and I have an OBDLink device. (I've messed with ForScan in Windows but not Forscan Lite.)
To those who use ForScan Lite with their SuperDuty--what PIDs ("Parameter Identification") do you monitor while towing and why?
TIA!
-Howard
P.S. Yes, I searched the Ford forums using Google and found a few related threads, but none that expounded on the "why" portion of my question.2017 Ford F-350 DRW 6.7L Platinum

I have two different monitors in my old Ford. The overhead Edge Insight CS is always powered up with the ignition. I monitor EOT and EGT there.
I use Torque Pro with a Samsung Tablet when towing to monitor everything else I can think of. Trans temp. Fuel pressure, altitude, speed, gear. I'm sure there are a few more but those are the initial ones I can think of.
The why comes down to trying to make the old PSD run as long as possible. EGT is important for many reasons of course. I try to keep the temp below 1300°, I've pushed that on some long Rocky Mountain climbs. and let it cool to no more than 300° before shutting the motor off.
EOT, I do my best to allow the oil to warm to 100° minimum before driving after a cold start. Summer helps, but it's my daily as well.
Any sudden change in trans temp, or fuel pressure would catch my eye as potentially dangerous.
I guess it boils down to my feeling that information is power. The more I know about what the truck is doing the better prepared I am to keep my family and others safe.Last edited by dannysdaddy; 05-15-2019 at 11:16 AM.

Howard, I don't use ForScan (I use OBD Fusion). I have the Ford PIDs for Fusion though, and I'll put together a little care package showing screenshots and PIDs that I monitor. Give me a few hours to assemble it all.
